The City of Lincoln’s Leaf Collection Program runs from November 1 through December 31. Residents in the highlighted areas of the map below will receive leaf collection services on the indicated days during this time period. Please observe the following guidelines:

• Rake leaves into a neat pile in the street, making sure to keep gutters and storm drains clear.
• Residents in the red area of the map should have leaves ready for collection by Sunday evening.
• Residents in the blue area of the map should have leaves ready for collection by Tuesday evening.
• Please use your green waste cans to dispose of leaves before and after the collection period. Leaf trucks will only perform collection between November 1 and December 31.
• *Heavy or light leaf piles may affect days of pickup. The leaf truck will be running through the colored areas all week long.

Leaves piled on lawns will not be picked up. Please no branches or other foreign debris (such as cinder blocks, dirt, or other non-leaf matter).

Leaves not placed out by the required time may not be serviced until the following week. Leaves that have a vehicle parked on top of them will not be picked up.

Residents may also utilize their green waste can for leaf pickup service.

For the month of December, the City is offering leaf pickup to those residents who have too many leaves to fit into their green waste can and who don’t live in the downtown area that currently receives service from the leaf truck.

There is no charge for this pickup nor limit to how many bags will be collected, and it is available to all City residents. This service will be provided on Thursdays throughout the month of December.

If you would like to schedule a pickup for your bagged leaves, please see the below instructions.

• Call the Public Services Line at 916-434-2450 to schedule a pickup. These pickups are not automatic and therefore need to be scheduled. Thursdays have been designated as the “leaf pickup day” for this program.
• Place your extra green waste (leaves only) into a garbage bag.
• No open or overflowing bags of leaves will be accepted, so please make sure the bags are tied.
• Please place the filled bag(s) at the curb by 6 AM on your scheduled Thursday.
• Bags containing other related plant material, garbage, or other waste will not be picked up.
• Bags must be light enough for pickup. Heavy bags risk getting ripped and causing a mess of leaves. If you can’t pick it up, the City won’t pick it up!
• Customers are limited to no more than 10 bags per pickup.
• Space/availability is limited, so please call early to schedule your bagged leaf pickup.

Leaf pickup service for residences located within the BLUE shaded area will occur on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of each week during the Leaf Pickup Service period. Please have leaves out by 6:00 AM on Wednesday to allow for service.
